| Initially, from 1987 to early 1989 standard Public Issue Card of varying unit values were hand-stamped locally to differentiate them from smuggled cards. Home Office and North Sea Camp hand-stamps were employed, and a large variety are know. However this system was open to corruption, and copies of various BT cards are known to have received either genuine or fake hand -stamped impressions. | |||

| CUP007/8 differ from CUP005/6 in respect that the 'arrow' does not contain the unit value, the word 'Phonecard' on the header is in white, and the text on the card is changed from "FOR USE IN HM PRISONS ONLY" to "FOR USE IN PRISONS ONLY". These cards are for use in prisons throughout the UK, and no more Scottish Prison Service cards (CUP003) will be printed | |||
